The brief
For this project, I aimed to design branding for a new youth club. I've noticed a decline in youth clubs, and my mom often talks about how they were the go-to place when she was young. Unfortunately, we don't have that much anymore. Youth clubs used to be a great hangout for kids who don't have much money. They're also valuable for teenagers to learn new activities. On Twitter, there are discussions about how ethnic minorities and people from poorer backgrounds are often perceived similarly with limited personalities.
I believe developing uniqueness and confidence comes from stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. However, many people from working-class backgrounds may not have the funds to explore different activities. So, I want to create branding for a youth club with a goal to help teenagers get to know themselves by trying out new activities and hobbies, which would be discounted or reduced.
Inspiration
Since, many youth don't drive, I aim to target touch points in their daily lives. In London, kids often use buses for local travel. Hence, I intended to create eye-catching posters for bus ads to promote the new youth club. The design featured bold, colourful text against a dark background, similar to  popular streetwear aesthetic among young people. This approach aims to capture their attention. To help guide my creative process, I gathered a mood board of designs that fit this theme.
To promote this brand, I'm making a motion graphics piece to showcase the essence of the youth club experience. After looking into motion graphics, I've decided to make a  kinetic typography, motion graphic. I found four videos that caught my interest with their intriguing style. I like the way they use mostly text and shapes to keep things interesting and fun.
Exploration/ development
I already knew the aesthetic I wanted for my poster designs. However, I needed to experiment with hierarchy, colour, and the background. tO ENSURE THAT THE design was eye capturing, yet clear.
I created my first draft of my motion graphics. After creating these I realised this was not how I wanted it to look, so I went back to experimenting.
